Mudjimba Area Info:

If a laid-back beachside holiday is your idea of heaven, then beat a path to the best kept secret on the Sunshine Coast, Mudjimba.

This secluded stretch of golden beach is surrounded on two sides by the clear, blue waters of the Pacific Ocean and Maroochy River and flanked by the Maroochy River Conservation Park. It's an oasis of unspoiled natural wilderness within a short drive of Sunshine Coast hot-spots such as Coolum, Noosa and Maroochydore.

Tucked away from the main roads of the Sunshine Coast, Mudjimba is the perfect retreat for a relaxed holiday with family or friends where sun, surf and sand are the order of the day.

With its wide open beach, Mudjimba attracts serious surfers in search of the perfect swell; however the patrolled areas of the beach are also safe for the kids to practice on the boogie board.

If you like your seafood fresh, head to the northern side of Maroochy River and catch yourself a fishy feast. Indulge in a round of golf at the nearby golf course or explore the conservation park, brimming with birdlife.

Mudjimba Beach is an unspoiled coastal haven just a stone’s throw from bustling Maroochydore and 1.5 hours from Brisbane.

The endless, golden sands of this secluded beach are bounded by the Maroochy River and the clear, blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. Hidden away in the backstreets of Mudjimba has given this glorious beach ‘hidden gem’ status and made it the perfect getaway for those seeking a truly relaxing beach holiday with friends and family.

An aquatic playground

The beach is patrolled 365 days a year and you should only swim between the flags near Mudjimba Surf Club’s watch tower in case of rips or strong currents. Along the beach you’ll find excellent fishing spots in the rip gutters and at the river mouth just south of Twin Waters. For surfers there are consistent surf breaks along the beach with better banks towards Point Arkwright. The patrolled parts of the beach are perfect for the kids’ boogie board adventures.

North shore off leash Beach

At the southern tip of Mudjimba, North Shore Off-Leash Beach is arguably the Sunshine Coast’s wildest, most beautiful slice of paradise for dogs.

Playgrounds, picnic areas and dining

You’ll find a fantastic kids’ playground adjacent to Mudjimba Surf Club. This grassy recreation area is well-shaded and covered BBQs and picnic tables make this a great spot for a long, lazy lunch. Just across the road there are numerous eateries serving everything from traditional fish ‘n’ chips to organic, locally-grow fare and espresso coffee.

Mudjimba Island (Old Woman Island)

Just off the coast of Mudjimba is Mudjimba Island which was once owned by Sean Connery. Affectionately known by locals as Old Woman Island, it’s a favourite spot for snorkelers and divers with its amazing coral gardens and myriad of sea life including: lionfish, butterfly fish and moray eels.

Getting here

Mudjimba Beach is 3 km south of Marcoola and 3.5 km to Sunshine Coast Airport. There is plentiful, unmetered parking close to the beach front reserve affording easy beach access. Mudjimba is located 20 minutes drive south of Noosa, 10 minutes south of Coolum and 10 minutes north of Maroochydore. The drive from Brisbane is approx 1 1/2 hours. Mudjimba is centrally located to all the Sunshine Coast has to offer.

Review for for Pebbles at Mudjimba Beach -

The location was fantastic - an easy flat walk to dog friendly beach, the house was perfect for dogs with tiles throughout and a securely fenced great outdoor area. A lovely big living area/kitchen dining and it is well equipped with everything you'd need for a great holiday - no need to take much at all. The photos don't do it justice! (surprised to find a brand new webber BBQ and a fabulous outdoor umbrella.. and ceiling fans in every room). Thanks so much we will be back again. Christmas week 2016. Nicole

Very Excellent Property

Our two dogs were right at home from the moment we stepped inside They seemed like they didn't want to leave. That goes for my wife and I also didn't want to leave.

Great value holiday house

Review Transferred from Stayz Pebbles is a very well appointed and comfortable home. Perfect for people travelling with pets, it is simple to keep clean and the back yard is secure and breezy, the photos don't do it justice. The kitchen is very well appointed for people who like to cook, and the availability of beach gear, some free weights for the fitness conscious, and extra dog bowls all come in handy. The backyard is very private and secure. We would stay her again in the future. The house is a short walk along a quiet street direct to the beach and Mudjimbas small but excellent selection of cafes. Excellent value for money.

“Open, light comfortable house in a quiet location close to the beach & a lovely village.”

Review Transferred from Trip Advisor Pebbles provided a well nigh perfect house & backyard for me & my Border Collie. An off lease beach is two kilometres away, cycling tracks extend for 90 plus kms along the coast. Cafes & coffee houses waiting to be discovered. Mudjimba is well located to explore the Sunshine Coast & hinterland - Eumundi Market a must.

The house was well appointed and a great yard for our dogs.Secure fencing kept them safe at all times, and proximity to the beach was also good- about a 5 minute walk and then a beautiful dog friendly beach. A well stocked kitchen ensured that you could cook in comfort.

Quite street. Close to pretty much all we needed. Never saw any niebours (just like our place). The bakery bread was allmost as good as Laidley bakery bread. Our kids (2 dogs) loved the freedom of the beach and meeting all the other kids on holidays!
