We were a family of 4 with a pet miniature fox terrier called Arthur. Like so many other dog owners, we found holiday planning was always difficult. Should we use a kennel? Or find someone to look after him while we went away? Either way it was sad to leave him behind. Many times we had taken him on day trips to the beach. On one fateful occasion we visited Peregian Beach. The whole family (including Arthur) fell in love with this magical beach. So we started searching for the perfect dog friendly beach house and to our delight found Orangewood.
Then we thought of others who may be in the same situation as us, facing the dilemma of not taking their pets with them when they are holidaying. That’s when Dog Friendly Holidays was born.
Shortly after we added Palms beach House and Pebbles beach House to our list of Pet Friendly Accommodation. Over the years we developed a wonderful little business helping pet owners holiday with their dogs. We recently included Broadleys at Stradbroke Island in our collection of Dog Friendly Holiday Homes.
Sadly after a lovely life with many visits to the beach we lost Arthur at age 19. Our new baby is a miniature labradoodle called Teddy. Being a labrador poodle cross he is a natural water lover. We understand the joy of holidaying with your beloved pets and invite you to enjoy one of our lovely beach houses soon.
All of our houses are designed for Dog Friendly Holidays. We are located near a dog friendly beach and where possible dog friendly cafes. All of our houses are fully fenced. We welcome dogs inside at all houses. All houses are either tiled or polished floors throughout including bedrooms. All houses have ceiling fans in most living areas and bedrooms (where practical). Our guests will enjoy a well maintained, home away from home, where their whole family is made to feel welcome.
We are excited to add another amazing holiday home to our Dog Friendly Holiday options. Lynden Farm at Tamborine Mountain is a wonderful country escape for the whole family. Lynden Farm is our first property that caters for short stays and is a wonderful holiday option, located a short distance to local wineries, rainforest walks and local cafes. Winter is a popular time to head to Tamborine to enjoy a cold night by the cosy fire and in summer you can expect daytime temperatures about 5 degrees cooler than Brisbane...and the mountain streams are always cool to swim in.
